Tips & Tricks To Enhance Your Cheekbones

It is true that beauty comes in many forms, but there are few beauty ideals that almost every woman yearns for. The ideal of beauty is usually reflected in wide eyes, full lips and last but not least, high cheekbones. High cheekbones are the object of desire for many women, they are pleasing to one’s eye, and they give an illusion of younger look. Celebrated by stars like Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, and, a more recent one, Michelle Pfeiffer and supermodels like Gisele Bundchen voluminous cheek area makes a face slimmer and more angled

A bit of hard work (not)

Facial exercises have been used for a long time as a way of facial toning. The point is that you are changing the shape of your face by increasing facial volume and muscle tone. You can use facial exercise to tense up the muscle which will cause stronger appearance of your cheekbones. The most popular exercise for cheekbones is the so called fish face: basically you should suck your cheeks into your mouth right till your teeth. Hold for ten seconds, and then have a rest. Repeat ten times.

Au naturel or no naturel

Although everyone wants prominent cheekbones, not everyone is keen for surgical intervention in order to accomplish that. Fortunately, here are both surgical and nonsurgical methods of getting the effect you want. Surgeons achieve that look with dermal fillers, fat injections or implants. The goal is to rejuvenate the cheekbones area, add curves and reduce fine lines. On the other side, there are a few tricks by the queen of beautifying-makeup, that can give you similar effect, that will last shorter, but you can do it all by yourself.

The art of contouring

Contouring is in fact the art among makeup techniques. It used to be secret of red carpet ladies, but today its tricks are available to almost every woman. Although it takes a little longer than our regular makeup routine, the results are definitely worth the trouble. The tools you need to master this beautifying art are: highlighter, bronzer and a contoured angled brush. First thing you should do is to swoosh your angled brush into the bronzer, and then suck your cheeks in and apply the bronzer on the formed shadowed lines. The highlighter goes above bronzer lines, and its main mission is to “bring out” the cheekbones. It may be not as easy as it sounds, but with a bit of practicing, you’ll get the hang of it.

Choosing the color

When you decide for defining your cheeks by using blush or bronzer, it is essential that you choose the proper color and shade that will match your skin complexion. The suitable color should be similar to the color of your cheeks after exercising, “spanking” or being outside on the cold. If you still want to experiment with different shades, try out some of the multifunctional products, for instance half blush, half bronzer. You should also devote some attention to choosing the right blush formula depending on your skin type. Powder, liquid and gel are adequate for oily skin, while cream works great for dry skin.

We are not all born with the privilege of having high and prominent cheekbones, hey, but a lady does what she can. Although beauty ideals are often overrated, and we shouldn’t always submit to them, there is no question about the effects of razor sharp cheekbones on your overall look.
